An accomplished senior executive, Tom Kelley served with Montgomery County for 30 years in many roles, as a Financial Consultant – Office of Management and Budget / Director – Office of Family and Children First / Director – Job and Family Services / and most recently from 2013 to 2022 as Assistant County Administrator for Human Services.
“Tom is a tremendous leader who is passionate about helping some of our community’s most vulnerable populations,” said Commission President Carolyn Rice.
“I was honored to spend the last 30 years serving the County Commissioners, our partners and the citizens of Montgomery County,” said Tom Kelley, as he completed his work as Assistant County Administrator. “Together we developed programs and services to make our community a better place.”
On behalf of the United Way of the Greater Dayton Area (UWGDA) Board, “We are thrilled to be working with Tom as the new President and CEO of UWGDA,” said Board Chair, Rafi Rodriguez. “We are excited to welcome him to our team and look forward to the path ahead for UWGDA.”
Tom Kelley shares the following thoughts: “UWGDA has a long-standing critical role identifying gaps, facilitating solutions, and garnering resources to meet needs in our community. I look forward to moving from my many years as a UWGDA volunteer and partner into my new role leading the organization in collaboration with the UWGDA team/family throughout this region.” “We know that over 40% of families in our service area have difficulty meeting their daily essential needs, and UWGDA works in a variety of ways directly and through our partner network to make a difference for them.” “We will work to strengthen families, which strengthens neighborhoods, which strengthens communities, which increases economic vitality for our region.”
Kelley is a graduate of Central State University and is the recipient of numerous community awards and accolades.
